Cathedral Ledge

Echo Lake State Park

White Horse Ledge

Cathedral Ledge’s neighbor, rising over Echo Lake. There is no road to the top, so this one is for couples who want to earn the view: the loop trail over the ledge is roughly three miles with close to a thousand feet of climbing and some steep stretches. The reward is a wide view over Echo Lake and across the Saco River valley, usually with far fewer people than the drive up ledge next door.

Diana’s Baths

A series of cascades and granite pools on Lucy Brook in Bartlett, just outside North Conway, reached by an easy, mostly flat path of a little over half a mile. It sits in the White Mountain National Forest, with a self serve day use parking fee, and it is one of the busiest swimming spots in the valley on summer days. Jackson Falls

When to elope in North Conway

Summer is green and warm, with the busiest trails and beaches. Weekdays and early mornings make the difference.
September is our favorite secret: cooler air, thinner crowds, and in the first half of the month the valley usually still looks like summer.
